James Wade vit et écrit dans le Texas Hill Country avec sa femme et sa fille. Il est l'auteur de  Rivière, chanter  et  All Things Left Wild , lauréat du prestigieux MPIBA Reading the West Award for Debut Fiction, et récipiendaire du Spur Award du meilleur roman historique des Western Writers of America.
