James Wade bor og skriver i Texas Hill Country med sin kone og datter. Han er forfatter til  Flod, syng ud  og  All Things Left Wild , en vinder af den prestigefyldte MPIBA Reading the West Award for debutfiktion, og en modtager af Spur Award for bedste historiske roman fra Western Writers of America.
